Temple Square

Well we went with Scott's family down to temple square tonight. It was a good time. Ada got to see all the lights for the first time. She really liked them. She wanted out of the stroller pretty bad though. Here are a couple pics. Enjoy.

Scotty wanted to add a little

So many reasons to be thankful!

Well, it is thanksgiving day in 2008, and I am stuck in Iraq. I should have a million reasons to be bitter, but I want to take the time to reflect on why I am so blessed. First off is Alisha, there are not enough good things in this whole world to say about her. Alisha is a loving, warm, funny, beautiful and extremely intelligent woman, who I absolutely adore. She is an amazing wife, and a wonderful mother. I know it has been so hard for her, ahving me gone for so long, but she has tried her best to hang in there, and still is doing so. She is a fierce lover, who showers me with all sorts of attention, and makes me feel special. I could not imagine the direction my life would take me, had I not met her. She is everything to me! I love you baby!
Second is our little monster, this little girl is an entire ocean away, but can get me to give into her every want. Each day when i see her on the webcam, I can not help but smile. She is growing up so fast, and I am sad to miss so much of it, but even still, she brings so much joy to an otherwise dull world for me. I never knew or understood the love of a parent, untill i became one myself. Ada, at only 14 months old, has tought me so many life lessons. She has tried Alisha, and I to the limits at times, and tought us both so much about patience and unconditonal love. I think I speak for both of us when I say that she is the single greatest thing to happen to our lives. I love you stinker!
Third comes my family, they have been supportive of Alisha and I since day one. I have truely been blessed with parents that i believe have nailed the unconditional love part down to a tee. They have surely helped our family out on numerous occasions, and for that I am very grateful. My brothers and sisters, have also been very helpful and supportive in all things. I appreciate the way that everyone has welcomed Alisha into the family. I love you all!
Lastly, Alisha's family. Her parents have been kind and supportive of us and our marriage, and also helped us out on numerous occasions. I remember when Ally and I first arrived in Texas, we were litteraly about to be homeless, and her parents came through with the money that we needed to get into a comfortable home. For that single act alone, I am very grateful. And that is far from the only time, that they have helped us. I am gratefull for my brother and sister in law, who tried there best to make me feel welcome, and who always loved and looked out for Al. I am also glad that she has a wonderfull cousin, who I know would help us in any way he possibly could.
When I think of all these things, it really makes me realize that I am so blessed. In addition to our wonderfull families though. I am gratefull for the job that I have, that puts a roof over my families head, puts food on the table and provides us all the neccesities of life. Although at times it is tough being so far from home, and those that I love, I am indeed grateful for my oppurtunity to serve. My service has made me appreciate the heroes of the past even more. So many Americans who gave the ultimate sacrafice for our beloved country. I am proud of my father who has served faithfully in the military for 30 plus years, and also for my Grandfather, for his courageous service in WW2.
This is getting longer than I imagined it would, so I will bring it to a close. I encourage each person that reads this, to reflect on the many many blessings in there own lives. You might trulely be suprised how much you have to be thankful for!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Photobucket

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I just wanted to take a second and tell everyone why I am thankful this year. I am so thankful to have the family that I have. I have the most wonderful husband that a girl could ask for. He is my best friend. He is the strength that keeps me going each day. He is kind and patient and loving and more than I could have ever dreamed of in a husband. I love him with every ounce of my soul. I am thankful for my little girl. She is a monster and a trouble maker and a drama queen. She is stubborn like her mama but she is so smart and loving like her daddy. She brings so much joy to Scott and I. She is infectious to be around. I am thankful for my parents and for all the things they still continue to do for me. For the lessons they taught me, no matter how much I may not have wanted to be taught at the time. I am thankful for my brother. He is a good man and is always watching out for me. I am thankful for my inlaws. They have helped Scott and I out of some hard times, and have always been there for us supporting us in any choice we make. I am thankful for all of his family and the kindness they have shown me and the welcomness I have had into their family. I got lucky on the inlaw card. And I am truly thankful for that. I am thankful for my friends. The ones that are actually there. The list may be short but the ones I have are true friends! And I am just thankful for my life. For all the wonderful things I have. I have been so blessed. Well just wanted to put that down on paper. Hope everyone has a great turkey day! I will put up pictures of ours here shortly!

Digital Scrapbooking

Well I have never really wanted to dive into the world of scrap booking because I didn't want to spend all the money on the supplies. So I decided to go a different route to start getting pictures organized and into albums. Here are a few pages I have made on my digital scrapbook program. Just thought I would share my hobby! All you do after you make the pages is have them sent of digitally to a place that prints them out for you, or you can print them at home and then put them in an album.

Little monkey girl!

Well life continues to move forward for us. I have found out that my little girl, who is already a walking disaster, (she is always falling and hurting herself) has discovered that she loves to climb. Like she needs another way to fall and bump her head besides walking in a straight line under her own two feet. I have a few boxes stacked by the front door at the moment and I turn around when they have only been in the house about 15 mins and look who is standing at the top of them. Now as you can see from the pictures they are right by the TILE entry way. Needless to say I freaked out and grabbed her down. She just continued to think this was a fun game. She would climb to the top, say so big! and throw her hands up and then laugh until mom grabbed her an put her on the floor. I played the game for a bit, but then I dismantled the boxes so she could no longer climb. Next thing I know, she has found a way to climb on top of her toy box, up into her highchair as well as onto the computer bench/box that I use right now. She is my monkey girl! I guess once she figured out how anything that was down was fair game. Oh and Scott says she is a monkey cause she LOVES bananas. So there you have it, our monkey girl!

A trip to Logan

Well Ada and I went out of town this last weekend to Logan to visit Randi and Jason and Layla. They have a little girl that is 15 months, so only one month older than Ada. It was a lot of fun. The girls got to play together and Jason was nice enough to watch them some so the mommies could go out to get our hair done and to watch a movie. It was nice to get away for the weekend. Heres a couple pictures of the silly girls.
