Well its official. Scott is gone :( He took off first thing this morning. It was an early flight which really sucked because we were both so tired it made it hard to even focus on a good goodbye, if there is such a thing. We had a great leave and I loved being able to spend time with him again. We did a lot of fun stuff, as well as a bunch of just bumming around. Scott's parents flew in for a few days and we spent some good time with family which was nice. We were able to get up snowboarding for a day too. Spent lots of family time going out to eat and watching movies. Scott loved that he was able to drive his new car and I think finally he is going to stop trying to sell it since he finally drove it and fell in love with it. I tell you those boys have way to much free time on their hands over there cause Scott comes up with some crazy schemes due to bordness and to much internet browsing.

We have 11 weeks to go until Scott is back on a plane and headed home for good. Well at least until the next deployment that is. I couldn't be more excited. I dreaded having to wait so long to see my husband but now that I see how close the end is him going back wasn't as hard. Ok so maybe that's kind of a lie, but at least I know that its not much longer till he gets home. Plus I am going to be crazy busy with moving back to Texas and getting our home all put together. I am so excited for that! I can't wait! I have everything all picked out and ready to be purchased as soon as I get there. We are finally going to be able to afford to get nice furniture for our home and I get to do some real decorating! Now all I have to do is kill time for about two weeks till I head out the door here. Kinda crazy to think that I am going to be going from like 30 degree weather to 65 70 degree weather. I am excited though. I am getting tired of the cold. I need some sun!

Here are a few more pics from leave. Just us bummin. A couple from when Scotts friend Doug came to visit and his little bro. Enjoy!

Scrappin it up.

So I have discovered after some trial and error that I want to do the 12 X 12 scrapbook pages instead of the 8 1/2 x 11 ones. I also have finally figured out how to save the images properly so that when they are printed them come back looking very nice and the way I want them. Only one problem is that I have to start all over on the pages that I have already done. So here are the new ones I have started to work on.

FatCats

Yesterday was another fun family day. We hung out at our place in the morning and beat each other up at some mario kart. We are really having fun with our new Wii. Then we went out to Fatcats with his family. Its a bowling alley/game place/pizza parlor/billard place all in one. We ended up having a good lunch and then did some bowling. We only played one game but with 14 people it takes forever! Ada really liked pushing the ball down the lane, only problem was she wanted all the balls she could see! LoL. I must say that my years and years of being a geek and being in the saturday bowling league growing up paid off and I kicked everyones butt with a nice score of 204. Not a bad game. Scott got beat not only by his wife, but also his mom and daughter. It was a sad day for him. After bowling we headed back to Jens house to hang out. The girls all took off and went shopping at this place called quilted bear. Its a cool shop where people can rent out space and sell their crafts. Man! If my house was here I could have bought so much stuff!! Instead I just got another head full of ideas of things I can work on making once I head back. I am so done with Utah and really want to get home! We had a nice lasguana dinner as a family even though we were all stuffed from pizza still. Grandma Cotner even made Ada her very own gluten free and lactose free lasgana. She digged it. Well thats all for now. Heres some pics. Enjoy!

Snowboarding! Yay!

Well Scott and I got the chance to go shred it up last night. It was a lot of fun. We didn't stay up for to long cause unfortuantly his little brother tried to pull off a stunt and well, didn't pull it off. So he hurt his knee and then his other brother already had a bum hip so we weren't up as long as I think we would have liked but we did get in some good runs and it was just fun to get out and play. We also went with his sister so that was nice to have another girl. Scott got a new board this summer due to his obbssive online shopping while in the sandbox so he was a happy boy. Sadly we totally forgot the camera so we dont have any pictures..lame I know.

On a side note, Ada is still not doing much better. We have switched her diet but no improvment yet. The doctor said if he didn't see weight gain in two weeks he was going to have to take some drastic measures. I am not sure what that means and I dont really want to find out since I am leaving in three weeks to Texas. The last thing we need is to get stuck here. But if Ada needs something then we will do what needs to be done. She is still happy and playing as if nothing is bugging her, but she is getting skinny skinny. Hopefully we can get this under control soon. I plan on going to a specialist as soon as we get to Texas its just a matter of getting there.

Oh and one other thing. One of my friends has a new craft site and she makes some really cute things. You should all check it out and buy something from her! She is very talented! Heres the link

Just bloggin

Well I don't have a whole lot to say other than Scott and I are having a great time together right now. We have had a fun last few days even though we really haven't done much at all. Today we spent it with his parents and family. His rents flew in last night and we went over to Jenn's house to see them. Jenn, mom and I ended up doing a little girl shopping today at some consignment shops. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to get to texas and start piecing our home back together. I have so many ideas its insane! I seriously can't wait. Only about 3 more weeks! Which is awesome! But sad cause that means we have a little over a week till Scott heads back which makes me very sad. Yesterday he was nice enough to help me out with some of the organizing and packing for the upcoming trek back to Texas. We got rid of a bunch of stuff! Which is good cause I need the space in the cars. I dont know how 9 months ago I got everything to fit in one car and I had two dogs and now I am squeezing to get it all in two car and no dogs. How did I gain that much crap?! Anyways, thats about all for now. We are hoping to get in some night boarding tomorrow, weather permitting. So fingers crossed for a snow day!

Poor baby girl

Well I had posted previously about how Ada has a milk allergy now. Well after sticking to a strict milk free diet none of her symptoms have gotten any better. We took her back into the doctor this morning and now she has been put on a strict gluten and milk free diet. Talk about a lot of work! If you don't know what a gluten free diet it, its a diet that contains no wheat, rye, barley or oats. Its a very tricky diet to learn about and there are a lot of hidden things on labels. It will definitely take some getting used to. Scott's brother has celiac disease. That's what its called, so I can ask his sister Jen for some help on recipes and stuff but when you add the milk allergy on top of that it makes it much more tricky. But hopefully our sweet baby girl will start to feel better. The rash and the diapers and the vommitting are no fun for anyone. Not to mention she is off the weight chart completly now and the doctor said if she doesn't start gaining weight instead of losing it, it will have some severe medical consiconceous. So wish us luck! And if any of you have good recipes send them this way!

R and R

Well Scotty has only been home a few days but it has been amazing! We have had so much time playing and just enjoying each others company. Scott is loving being with his little girl again to. As I type this he is playing with her in the bath. Since being home we have had the opportunity to go on a date just the two of us. One of our friends took Ada for night and that was way nice. We went out to dinner at Red Robins and then to see Seven pounds. Today we took Ada to discovery gateway which is a childrens museum here in Salt Lake and that was alot of fun. Its so fun to see her play and interact. You can just see her mind working. Kinda a weird conincidence too. As Scott and I were walking in a man came up and put his arms around us both and jsut said Hi! I knew who it was but it took Scott a second. His commander happens to be doing leave here in Utah as well and just call it good timing but he was at the museum with his twin girls which we got to meet. Very cute girls! Look like their daddy. So that was nice to see him. Also we were able to make it to a wedding reception of a good friends of Scotts on Thursday night that he didnt think he would be here in time for. And man you should have seen the look on the guys faces when he walked through the door. You would have thought he was risen from the dead. Lol. Anyways, heres a few pics of our times.

We got our home!

Well good news! We got approved on the house we wanted for Texas. I am so excited! We will have a place all ready when I get back to Texas. I can't believe this is going on without a hitch. Things never work that easy for me and Scott. Today has been a good day! I haven't even got the chance to tell Scott yet. But I just wanted to post that real quick because I am stoked!

AHHH!

So Scott left at about 5 am my time this morning to start his trek towards Kuwait and eventually here to see me! I am so excited!! BUT I am so antsy! I am so used to waking up in the morning and hearing from him first thing, but not today. Its driving me insane. I knew I wouldn't hear from him and that the next few days would be very limited contact till he shows up but man its only been a few hours and I am already going nuts! I just want to know that hes ok and that he has his itineary and when he will be here! AHHH! Ok that's all for now. Just very very very ANTSY!

And a side note, here is a pic of Ada this morning. I thought she looked very cute.

A little choked up

I felt very moved tonight and I needed to sit down and put my thoughts onto paper. I was having a very crappy evening due to some personal things going on amongst my family. I was feeling very angry and hurt. I started to bum around the internet and was looking through a blog of a family that was in my ward while I lived in Oregon. There 5 year old little girl has cancer. It is one of the saddest stories. She is the sweetest little girl. Last I had heard she was doing very well and they were going to put her in remission. I had not looked at her blog in a bit so I thought I would check it out. I am not sure the full story of it all, but she is in the middle of a very intense and hard chemo treatment. This little girl is probably the bravest person I have ever met. She is so positive and so upbeat. Her parents are amazing people. I got to know her mother for a brief time while serving in the church with her and wow, what a wonderful woman. They are a strong family. The love that you can just feel from reading their blog is so amazing. I can only imagine what it must be like to have a child sick with something like cancer. Its every parents worst nightmare to see their children suffer, especially from something that you can't fix for them. As Scott and I sat here discussing this family and how unbelievable they are I just had this overwhelming feeling of thankfulness. I am so incredibly greatful for my life. I have been so blessed in so many ways. I have many struggles and have huge pitfalls but I have a wonderful kind husband that sees me through my darkest hours. He is there for me in a way that I never knew was possible. I didn't know you could love another person as much as I love him. He has taught me more in three short years than I thought I could ever learn in my lifetime. He is kind and patient and so forgiving. I struggle with alot and without him I would be utterly lost.

There was a quote posted on their blog..."It is easier to light one candle, than to curse the darkness" What a powerful quote! Its an attitude I wish I could apply more in my own life. I think having a husband that is deployed I have played the cursing the dark card on more than one occassion. How incredibly naieve of me. I am so lucky to have what I have in my life. My husband may be gone for a short while, but atleast I have him. And my wonderful daughter. She brings me more joy with each day than I knew was possible. To see her smile is the most amazing feeling. She truly teaches me what unconditional love is.

I am not sure what I am getting at here, I guess its just one of those days. Its been a long one and a trying one. We are very close to having Scott home and my emotions must be catching up to me. I just want to say how thankful I am for my husband and my daughter and my life. I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful family. I cannot wait until we are whole again.

Getting Antsy

Well Scott is getting on a plane in less than a week to come my way and finally get some R and R. I cannot wait. Scott is the last group of people that are heading home for R and R so when he gets back we will only have about 2 and a half months left! That is seriously the best news to me. I can't believe we are so close! Also we put in an application on a place to live in Texas and I have my dates for when I will be heading back that way to set up our home for the spring and summer. Then of course its off to Colorado which I couldn't be more excited for. Scott and I are looking forward to some sweet snowboarding when we get there.

Speaking of snowboarding, we are so excited to go! Scotty got me a sweet new coat for the year which came today. I love it! He got a lot of new gear himself too. We can't wait to get to colorado by next winter to use it all. My luck Ill be pregnant then! Haha.
Here is the new coat

But back to this R and R. I can not wait! I have been spinning in circles lately and just trying to find things to do to occupy my time. I had a game tonight but sadly my sitter wasn't able to take Ada cause she has a little girl that came down with the flu. Means I might miss my game tomorrow to. Kinda bummed. But Scotty will be here soon and he is going to get the chance to watch me play which he has only seen once since we have been married. Also were going boarding, and to the sundance film festival, and sledding, and out to eat and were gonna have some bummin days and gonna take Bug to the discovery gateway which is a kids museum here. I cannot wait! We are going to have lots of fun!

Well not much else to say for now, just sitting here wanting time to fly!

Christmas etc

Well Christmas and New years have come and gone. I am happy to see them over with to be completely honest. Not having Scott here this year SUCKED to say the least. Ada seemed to enjoy her time with family and of course all her gifts but otherwise I am ready for the new year and knowing my hubby is coming home soon. I did enjoy spending time with all of my family in Portland. I was able to go visit my grandpa who I haven't seen since Ada was 6 weeks old and that was very nice.

We have 8 days till Scott boards a plane to come my way for R and R and I can't even put into words how excited I am! So close, yet it still feels like forever. I am very antsy and nervous. Here are a few pics of our recent times.
