I still have a couple finishing touches I am going to do, like a slip cover for our chair that's in the mail and a sign for above our bed and curtains in that room. But otherwise its pretty well finished. I am so happy to be done unpacking! Our new couch! And its busted

Yep...dang foot. I hurt it bad on Tuesday and I thought maybe I could work my way through it and it was just a strain. I should have known better. Finally dragged myself to the ER today and they confirmed that I have a stress fracture on my right foot. How lame. Now I get the joy of wearing a wonderful big black boot around. I was thinking of posting pictures of it but I am to embarrassed. LoL. Anyways, hopefully it heals quickly. I was hoping to get back into the gym on a regular basis. Guess I will have to wait just a little longer.

On a more positive note, my house is coming together so nicely! I am loving it. I just finished up the art work for one of my living room walls and it came out very good in my opinon. I can't wait to have it all finished. As soon as I do I will post up some pictues.

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for Operation Kid Comfort. I sent off some pics and a request for this blanket shortly after Scott deployed and I never heard from them. It said on their site that they get hundreds of requests and you may never get your blanket. So I wasn't expecting it, but then it showed up! The blanket is very cute. Its a non profit organization that makes theses blankets for kids of deployed parents. You send them pics of the kids and their parent and they screen print them on to a quilt. I thought it was so nice that people volunteer their time to do things like this. i know my grandmother does this kind of thing but for blankets of wounded veterans. If I was a better sewer I would volunteer my time to do this. Anyways here's a pic. The best I can do.

Trying to play catch up!

Front of my house

Ok so I have a lot to blog about! Before I headed out to Texas I got to spend a few fun days going snow mobiling with my sibling in laws. It was a blast. I went with Jen and Drew and there 3 boys and Will, Diana, and Colton. They brought Steve along of course, and then Jimmy and Tara. We were supposed to go up for two days but when we woke up the second morning we found out that a big storm had moved in so we all had to hurry and pack up and have a tractor lead us out to plow the road cause the conditions were so bad. But the first day was awesome. I got to go on a nice long ride and I only got mine stuck twice. Not to bad for only my second trip. Heres a couple pics.Ada playing peek a boo!

That would be me

So the road trip to Texas went pretty good. My father in law came and helped me drive the other car. I was stuck in Scotts. Now don't get me wrong I love Scotts car but its not exactly the most comfy thing for a 20+ hour trip. But we made it work. All my stuff barely fit in both cars. Some of the scenery we past was pretty good and some of it was pretty boring. I did get pulled over twice and for some pretty lame excuses. Once right about 8 miles from the colorado border a cop pulled me over cause he said the tint was to dark. Which it was for Utah standards but the car is registered in Oregon with Oregon plates so it was dumb. And the second time in a small town a cop pulled me over for having a light out over my liscense plate. To bad it was the back liscense plate and he flipped around to pull me over before he even saw the back of my car. Dang car draws to much attention! No tickets though so at least thats a good thing. We were able to make the drive in two days which was nice since I didn't want to have to wake up a third morning and do more driving. Saturday I signed the lease on my place and got the keys and we went and unloaded the cars as well as pick up all the new stuff I had ordered from wal mart. My father in law got to putting some of the furniture together. As of right now everything is assembled and I am loving it! Adas room is very cute. I haven't finished with all the decorating yet but I love her bedding and I went to Ikea and got her some cute stuff for her room. Its so exciting to see her in a big girl bed. I also have the desk and filing cabinet set up, and my dinning room furniture is all set up. And then today they are delivering our new couch and all my bedroom furniture and that will be the last of it. Then it will really be time to get to work and start decorating and getting this house in order! I have got almost everything un packed and I think by the end of the weekend I will be done! Well thats all for now. Heres a few more picsAda in the carShe actually passed out on the couch. She never ever does that! We were playing games in the car. Shes a goof!Big girl bed! Closer Closer Closer

Well its official! I am out of the apartment! I got everything packed into both cars yesterday and I moved over to Scotts sisters house. Getting everything to fit was a bit of a challenge but we were able to get it all in. I am so glad I had Will and Drew there to help cause I would have never been able to get the big things without them. All that is left now is I have to go back this afternoon and give it a good scrub down. Ada and I are going snow mobiling with Scotts family on Monday and Tuesday up at strawberry and were excited for the distraction. Then come Wednesday I will go turn in the keys to the apartment and turn in the the modem to comcast and that will be everything! Scotts dad flies in Wednesday night and we will take off first thing Thursday morning! I am getting very anxious and very excited! I can't wait to get HOME! Well I wont be on much the next few days so I will update when I am settled in TEXAS!

Like Mother Like Daughter

What can I say, my daughter is such a girl! Due to Ada's very strict diet for awhile I was not able to feed her a favorite treat of hers. Chocolate Coco Roos! What a girl right? Gotta love the night time chocolate! I total forgot about them until she dragged them out of the kitchen cabinet herself and brought them to me saying please, please, please. How do you resist that? So of course I gave her a couple and she was happy as could be watching one of the DVD's her daddy bought her. Clean from her bath, wrapped in her blanket. I thought it was cute and thought I would share. Now its time for mommy to follow her example and go get some chocolate of her own :)

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful that I only have two more nights in this tiny little apartment. I cannot wait to get out of here! I am thankful for my father in law coming up to help me drive back to Texas. And I am thankful for my brothers Will and Drew for helping me pack my cars! I am so thankful that I am almost done packing! And most of all I am thankful for my wonderful family. Scott and Ada are my world and I can't wait till this deployment is done and we are a family again.

And I devoured this dessert after wards and it was delicious! Why can't things like this be healthy for you?! They taste so good! So that's my wishful Wednesday. I wish I could eat this dessert every night and it be good for me :)

Teach Me Tuesday Apron Tutorial

I saw this adorable Apron on one of the sites that I frequent. I thought I would share it all with you. Seems pretty simple and you could do any fabrics you wanted to match your kitchen decor. Or for each holiday, or whatever you feel! Also you could cut down the fabric size and make it for the kids.

Here ya go!

Ruffle Apron

You will need the following fabric:

(1) 15 1/2" x 20 1/2" piece of fabric for the back of the apron- Piece A
(4) 6 1/2" x 33 1'/2" pieces of fabric for the ruffles- Piece B
(2) 4 1/2" x 24 1/2" pieces of fabric for the apron strings- Piece C
(1) 4 1/2" x 20 1/2" piece of fabric for the band- Piece D

Directions:

Make a 1/4" hem by folding under 1/4" of the fabric and then folding over again, enclosing all raw edges of piece "A", iron under 1/4" on all sides and stitch.

"B" Pieces- Hem the same way on the two short sides and one long side, leaving one 33" side unsewn. Repeat with all 4 pieces.

Working on the right side of the fabric, using long machine stitches, stitch along the unsewn side at 1/4" and again 1/8" in seam allowance. Pull threads to adjust gathers.
Starting on the bottom, pin the top edge of the ruffle to the wrong side of the fabric on piece "A" at about 1" up from the bottom. Wrap the gathering threads around the pin. Adjust gathers to fit across and pin piece down on opposite side. Stitch over the gathers to keep in place.Sew the next ruffle ("B") to piece "A" about 4 1/2" above the top of the previously sewn ruffle, making sure the top ruffles overlaps the bottom ruffle by about an inch. Repeat with remaining ruffles.

Once the ruffles are sewn on, you should have about 1 1/2" of piece "A" left at the top.

Take Pieces "C" and hem all 3 edges, leaving one short edge open. Next, take piece "D" and fold in half. Press with iron. Fold under 1/4" on remaining 3 sides. Place the top of piece "A" inside of piece "C" and pin to hold in place. Place pieces "C" on both ends of the band. Secure in place with pins. Stitch (2) short ends (being sure to catch the apron strings underneath) and stitch along the open end. Phew. I think that's it. So, you should have ruffles on one side and when you turn it over, you will see the right side of the fabric. I hope this makes sense. It's getting very late and I've come down with a bit of a bug (it's a total drag! Little Henry has it, too. It's quite sad) I am hoping it doesn't prohibit the Valentine cookie and truffle making (and eating) festivities this weekend.

Early Valentines Day

Well my wonderful husband decided that since I will be packing and moving on Valentines day he should spoil me a little early. I got these beautiful flowers from him. Thought I would share them.

And here is a few pictures of the little monster! Shes so much fun. Went to the specialist today and we are in the middle of running a whole battery of tests. One nice thing is he wants to take her off all the special diets because they are obviously not helping her and are just making my life a lot harder. I was excited about this piece of news. Hopefully when we get some results back we will know what we are dealing with. For now she is on a few different medications and lets hope they kick in quick. Her weight is still very very low. But again, she is a happy happy baby. Poor girl got stabbed twice today to take blood and she took it like a champ! I took her to burger king after for a little play time in the play area and some yummy french fries and chicken nuggets and chocolate milk. Something I'm sure she missed!
