Daddy got me Ice Cream!

Ada sure has missed her daddy. Each day is turning her more and more into a daddys girl. It makes me sad that she no longer wants mommy and no one else but at the same time its so much fun to watch them bond and grow close. This picture was at Adas last appt where we found that she is finally doing better. Her counts are all normal again and she is doing well. We may have finally beat this! And this is her first doctors visit in a long long time that they haven't had to poke her!

Scotty decided to get Ada her very own ice cream sandwich and boy did she love it! Only thing, she is such a girl!! She kept telling us her hands were dirty cause of the mess she made. What a goof.

And heres a bunch of pages I have been doing recently. I have got a lot done since Scott has been home and helping with the monster. Enjoy!

A visit to the firestation

Today we got to do something pretty fun and take Ada to the local fire station. One of our friends happens to know one of the fire fighters and they invited us out to have a private tour! It was a lot of fun and Ada really liked the big fire truck. She got to sit in the drivers sear, climb all over the back part as well as put on some of the fire fighters gear. She also got to see all of the inside of the firehouse, which is brand new and really nice! It was a cool opportunity that I was really thankful we got to do since Ada was sick all last night again. Poor girl. Well here are a few pictures. Enjoy!

Catch up!

So I have slacked just a little lately on here. I have been busy with Scott off work and being home enjoying family time. Its so nice to have him around to help out with Ada and just to be together. This last weekend we took a trip up to San Antonio and Austin. We visited the riverwalk, Alamo and the Austin zoo. It was a really good time. Ada had a lot of fun. The weather was pretty perfect too. It wasn't to hot outside but just hot enough. We got to eat some good food and enjoy some great company. The Austin zoo is nothing like the portland zoo but it did have a few fun things. Ada really enjoyed feeding the goats there. And she like the Tigers because they were actually up and walking around. She kept calling them kittys. Also she thought the monkeys were pretty cool. Mostly cause I think she knew what they were. You know shes thinking about it.

Scott decided to cut his hair into a mohawk since he can. I think its pretty ridiculous but whatever makes him happy. I don't mind since I know he can't have it for much longer. Gotta love the Army! Keeps them boys in line haha.

Speaking of Army, we have decided that we are going to try and get moved to Colorado as soon as we can. When Scott gets back from leave he is going to try and get his orders changed and get us out of here and moved on. We decided we just want to get there and get settled if its possible. Also we have finally got Ada to keep down her meds that they gave her at her last appointment and they do seem to be helping. We go back on the 26th to find out what more the doctor has to say. Hopefully we can get her figured out before we have to move that way we don't have to switch doctors yet again.

Still sick

Well we had an appointment for Ada on Monday to the GI Specialist here. We finally were able to get in and talk to him about some things. Ada has been on the yeast infection meds now and we are all done with them. Sadly the longer she was on them the more her symptoms started to come back. She never was able to take the other pills and her doctor told me to just forget them and that the yeast meds should be enough. Well come to find out from her GI doc that that was not true. So she still has C Dif, which is an infection that runs in her intestines. That is actually a worse problem than the yeast infection. He gave us a script for oral meds for her for that. Hopefully we can get her to keep those down. He thinks that once that is under control we should be able to get a better idea as to what is going on with her. We had to run more tests yet again. Poor Ada knows exactly whats happeneing when the nurses come in with the gloves on. She even told them thank you when they said they were all done. It was so cute but so sad cause she was crying. This place atleast lets her be held in my lap instead of swaddling her in a blanket and restraining her on the table. I think that worked much better for her and that made me feel good. He said that he thinks celiac is still a very real possiblity for her and that he would be running those tests to see what they come up with. I asked why if I put her on the gluten free diet before and it did nothing then why he would think that still. He said that becasue she had the infections going on that the reactions could very well have been from that and thats why I thought I was getting no results. So we will see what the tests results bring up. Ada was doing really well for awhile but right now she is slowly going back to being sick again. This morning so far was the worst of it. I hope it gets better quick. We will start her on the C Dif meds today.
As far as the blood results and her alkaline phosphate leveles being off, this doctor didnt seem to be to overly concerened with it. He said that if her liver were an issue that there would have been other factors on her CBC that would have shown up. He is re running the CBC as well as a break down of the alkaline phospotates to re check it all and see where we are. He isn't ruling it out yet, but also said he doesn't think that its an issue. We have a follow up appt in two weeks. He also encouraged us to try and get her potty trained as soon as possible. Granted with her getting sick again he said it can be tricky. But that it can help her not have as many accidents in a day considering she will be more aware of them. So we will continue to work on that. Thanks to Grandma Cotner Ada has lots of big girl Dora panties! She loves Dora and was so excited to get them. She carried around about 3 pairs for an hour. Oh one more good thing, Ada gained some weight!! Due to the fact that she wasn't throwing up every day she gained about 2.5 lbs! Yay! She is now right in the 10th % for her weight and 50% for her height. So I was very happy about that. Sadly if what is happeneing with her right now keeps going then she is going to drop down again. Lets just hope that doesn't happen. Here is a picture of her on the way home from the doctors after they poked and prouded her.

Another good thing, Scott is on leave! Yay! We get him for like 30+ days! We have some fun things planed to do but mostly we are just relaxing and enjoying spending time together. Ada loves having Daddy home. If he leaves for anything she asks for him the whole time he is gone. And then gets so excited when he walks back through the door. She is really starting to warm up to him. Last night she just climbed up on the couch and cuddled with him. Ada is also very into accesorizing lately. She wants to always have a braclet and a hair tie and glasses and a back pack and shoes. She is always asking to put them on. She just wants to be grown up already. Here is a picture of her in all her glory.
Last but not least, I had a wonderful mothers day. Scotty was so good to me. He took care of Ada all day for me. I didnt have to change one diaper! It was awesome! He also took me out to lunch. And was going to make me dinner but I was just to full. I woke up in the morning to my sweet girl carrying in a card and a candle from her. She was so excited to give it to me. Also Scotty was able to prompt her to say Happy Mommys Day. It was adorable. Scotty got me a beautiful right hand ring that I wanted. He is an amazing husband and I couldnt be more lucky to have him. We have been really slacking on taking pictures to post up here so I will work on that. Just so busy having him home and enjoying my time with him. Heres the ring he got me! So pretty!

Hiking

Scotty and I decided to head out and explore a little today. I looked up online to find a few hiking places in the area. Now granted I was spoiled this last year living in Oregon and getting to hike along the gorge almost every week. I loved it there! Nothing here even comes close to comparing but never the less we decided it would be a good family activity to hit the outdoors a little here and see what Texas has to offer. We found a nice hike that runs along the river side and then there is a waterfall. We decided to venture off the "nature hike" and walk the river bed a bit and see what there really was there. The nature hike was basically a gravel walk way. Not exaclty the hiking we were hoping to find. But the walk along the river was nice. Ada was being the little independent girl she is and wanted nothing more than to get down and hike with mommy and daddy. So we let her walk most of the way. Made me a little nervous when she would get to close to the water or she would walk close to an edge but she loved exploring. She is so curious about everything and wants to do everything on her own. She does not like to have any help. After we got done hiking that we decided to drive over to another hiking spot and this time Ada had to stay in the back pack. It was getting really hot and we just hiked to the top of Dana Peak. Its not much of a mountain but it was nice. We found some areas that on another day we could explore some more. Also that trial has some bike trails as well and we would love to come have some time to go riding one of these days.

What a face!!!

Well time is sure flying by. Scott has officially been home for 3 weeks now. Its so nice to have him back. This was a long year for us and I am so grateful to have my best friend home with me. He is back at work still and hopefully by the end of this week we should be on leave. His unit finally came in last week and it was nice to see some of his buddies I have not seen in a long time.

Ada is doing pretty good right now. She is not 100% better and we found out that her blood work is still not what it is supposed to be. We will be seeing a new specialist on the 11th to see if we can find out exactly what is going on with that. Her liver is what the problem is now and they don't know why or what so they referred us out. Thankfully it didn't take to long when this last doctor put in the referral. Hopefully they will be able to tell us whats going on.

I have been dutifully getting my butt back in the gym since slacking with Ada being sick and Scott coming home. It feels great to work out again. I'm paying the price for taking a couple weeks off though. Scott and I decided to start eating much healthier than we have been and making sure that fitness is a permanent part of both of our lives now that he is home again. We have one very active little monster that we both have to make sure we can keep up with. Not to mention we are still hoping for baby #2 and I got to get my body ready for that.

Not to much else is going on with us right now. Its kinda nice to have just a normal, uncomplicated life for a little bit. We are just enjoying our time being a family again. No pictures this time. Keep forgetting to pull out the camera. Ill get on it though.
