No real news yet

Well we have been going through more and more tests. Again there is no answers as to what is wrong with our little monster. We do know that she has a high white blood cell count and no fever or sign of infection...which doesn't add up and isn't a good thing. As well as a high platelet count with no fever or sign of infection...again doesn't make sense but is not a good thing. Also her alkaline phosphate test came back very abnormal so they are ordering an extensive blood test in regards to that. She had an ultrasound done on her kidneys yesterday and the radiologist has called us back in today because he was not ok with what he saw and wants additional images. So we have that test to run today. We are STILL waiting on the dang referral to the GI specialist. I hate tri care and how long it takes to get any of this taken care of. The doctor yesterday ruled out any kind of food allergy due to the results of all of her tests. She also came back positive for having a intestinal bacteria but we don't know the extent of this and are waiting on the answer to another test to figure out if this will require meds to fix...but is not the cause as to why she is still sick. Its been almost 6 months now since this started and no one can seem to give us an answer as to what is wrong. Obviously its not something as simple as a cold, or infection, or stomach bug because it would be out of her system by now. The doctors just don't seem to know what to make of it or how to take care of it. Hopefully after a few more of theses test results come back we will be able to get some answers. Just wanted to update everyone as to where we are and what we know...which is nothing!

Hi Alicia, remember me, Kim McKrola, from Oregon; Milwaukie ward? I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through with Ada, but I hope I can be of help. My cousin has a 11-year old boy who was always sick as a baby. He'd go through weeks of throwing up etc. and then he'd get better for a while and then sick again. The doctors had a hard time figuring out what was wrong, I guess they've finally figured it out, he still gets sick; but not as often. I don't know what it's called but I asked my cousin if I could give you her phone number so you could compare notes and maybe figure this thing out. Would you please email me at themckrola@hotmail.com and I'll email you her phone number. Our prayers are with you.
