Two new wreaths

Well the wreath on my front door had pretty much died...haha ok not so much died but the sun here had worked a number on it and it was time to take it down. So that meant it was time to get to crafting. I haven't been crafting as much lately as I would like to but life has just been crazy and hectic. Anywhoo...So I of course hoped on my blog sites I loved and starting looking around for some inspiration on what I wanted to make. I knew that on my door I somehow wanted to add "Welcome" Well I remembered these pretty fabric flower things I made once a while back and decided to just throw something together. My objective was to get this made during one tv show at night after the kiddos were in bed. Heres what I came up with...
I actually really like it and the best thing is it didnt cost me a penny! I had the scrap fabric laying around and the wreath was the same one I used before I just pulled the old fabric off it. All in all a great little project.

While I was surfing blogs for inspiration I did come across something that I really wanted to try. It was another wreath and I thought it was really pretty! But it looked like an expensive one and well Im not into spending to much money. Come to find out, the whole thing only costs $2 to make! In that case I knew I had to try! So here it is...
This whole wreath is made out of coffee filters! Yep! Pretty awesome huh!

A couple finished projects

Well I am this much closer to having everything done for Brayden to get here! I am sooo super excited! Here are a few projects I have finished in the last week or so. I am so ready to be done and have this baby already!

Monster Doll for Ada

So I have been working on some different crafts and such...you can go to my craft blog to see them, but I made this particular one for Ada cause she wouldn't stop asking for it! I love the way it turned out and so does she. She was very happy to finally have it. (it only took me a day, but you know toddlers lol) Anyways here it is!

And heres Ada lovin on it!




Also I decided to go ahead and try my luck at opening an Etsy shop. Right now all I have in there is a few burp cloths but I will be adding more after the holidays. I have to get through Christmas first! But spread the word to friends and such if you can! Thanks!! I would love the support!

::Opening my own craft blog::

Well I have decided that I really love to blog, but most of it is not family oriented. Sooo, I decided it was time to open my open craft blog to put out there. Tons of people have them and now its my turn :) I am pretty excited about this! As of right now all I have is a background. Its gonna take some time to get it up and running the way I want but I thought I would go ahead and let people know! Snowman by Daddy and new curtains

Well I was working on a craft project with Ada for a few Christmas gifts and Daddy thought it would be a good idea and use some of the left over clay and help Ada make a snowman. And actually it came out so cute I had to blog about it! He was very clever and used some left over candy corn for the nose, and then we had some branches from the Christmas tree for the arms, used some ribbon for a scarf and I found an old ink cap in my drawers that worked pretty good for the hat. Just used some gems I had for eyes, mouth, and buttons and all done! Its drying right now and I can't wait to put it on display! Ada had a fun time helping daddy!

Also my project for the day was to finish my curtains for the basement. Tiffany gave me some good fabric from IKEA and you can't beat free so I turned it into some nice curtains for the basement. They aren't the best work I have done but I like the way they came out. I am working on a mural for the wall above all the toys that ties in with the colors in the curtains. Ill post pictures of that when I get it finished.

Some days I swear its just one project after the next! I have a whole guest bedroom I need to get put together before my mom gets here, and tons of baby stuff to finish, and more Christmas stuff....hmm think I bite off more than I can chew?? Nah!

Brayden Cole's room

So I just thought I would post a little bit of a better pic of the babys room and the bedding so far. Scott and I lost our one camera and Scott informed me that the other one was "broken" when in all reality he just put the battery in backwards. So now I have a camera again which makes blogging so much more fun! I also finished a drawing of a monster that I hung up in the babys room. I actually really like the way it turned out.



Also I had to include this picture of my two favorite people napping. It was just too sweet to me. I had to share.

And of course the wonderful prego pic. I swear I am huge!!! I can't believe I still have another trimester to go!

Christmas Time!!!

So I pretty much love love LOVE Christmas! By far my favorite time of the year. I can't get enough of the cold and snow. I love hot chocolate. I love all the winter smells, and putting up your tree and the general happy spirit a lot of people have during the holiday season. It makes you remember how important family and good friends are and reminds you how fortunate you are to have the things you do. Or at least for me it does. It makes me want to share and give in any way I can. But mostly I love to decorate my house! Its so much fun! I put up Christmas decorations a couple days before Thanksgiving cause I just couldn't wait! But we waited until friday to get our tree. And this year we got a real one! This is exciting for us cause we have been living in places where to get a real one you have to fork out the big bucks and that just wasn't do able for us. So I was very very excited to get to have a real tree again. It smells so nice in our house!
I of course had to do at least one Christmas craft. I have a couple others in mind but this is the first one I have been able to do. I got a pack of two chargers at target for $2 dollars and then got a "believe" sign for a $1 at michaels. Then I just bought two packs of colored gems which were $.49 a piece! So for under $5 I was able to make this to put on my table. I really really love it too. Me and the glue gun had a few run ins while making it but I thought for the cost it came out pretty nice, and I have already had two complements on it since I put it up!

Anyways, I hope everyone has a great Christmas season and I really hope we all remember what the spirit of Christmas is all about. Find ways to help others out and do things that are less fortunate than you. Pull your loved ones in close and let them know what they mean to you, and don't forget the birth of our Savior. The true meaning of Christmas.

Begginings of the baby bedding and room!

Well I was able to take a picture of the crib bumper and blanket that I have made and you can see the paint job in the nursery as well. Its off my phone so its not the greatest picture ever but at least you can get the idea. Still have lots more to do!

My quilt

I decided to try my luck at making a rag quilt for Baby Braden and I am pretty pleased with how it came out! I really like the colors and I am thinking of doing my nursery in them now. Anyways, this was a pretty easy quilt to make just time consuming. I want to make Ada one now!

More projects and 14 weeks prego pic

I decided to make a few of my friends some gifts before I head out of town. I am still working on some but here are a few that I have made.

This was in the first basket. And this is a sign that I made for above my sink. I know that there is no point in hanging things up right now but hey I couldn't help it once it was finished. Plus I plan on keeping the same color scheme in colorado.
And this is me at 14 weeks 1 day. Not to much of a change really.

Name plate, felt food, and new wreath

Just a few more projects I have been working on lately. I made a name plate for my friends little girl. We are going to make a sweet army one for her little boy next. I think this is the style that I will use for my baby once I know what I am gonna name it. This project only cost $10 and those things sell for like $40 or $50 online.

Also for Adas birthday since we got her the kitchen set I made some play food out of felt. I saw this idea online but people were charging a lot for it. It only cost me a couple bucks for the felt, and I already had thread and stuffing. I was pretty pleased with how it all came out. I am still working on more of it.
And then I went and switched out my summer flowers for fall flowers on my wreath. I also added a new bow but I took the picture before I got it. Flowers cost me $4 bucks at dollar store and since I reused the wreath and the ribbon was only $1 at walmart, it was a $5 dollar project. I have seen wreaths like this in hobby lobby for $40, so again, good prices. I like to keep it cheap!

What can I say, I love crafts

I saw this adorable idea on another blog and I thought it would be fun to make. Its an apron that I am going to give to Ada with her kitchen for her birthday. It only cost me $2 to make! And only about 15 mins. I also made one for the neighbors little girl cause she got play food and stuff for her birthday. Its made out of a dollar store placemat! Can you believe that! Just had to share!

Start of my second trimester

Just thought I would go ahead and put up a picture as I start my second trimester. I have been feeling a lot better lately which is very very nice!

I have also started to work on a few baby crafts...what a shock lol. I have started to make some burp cloths but since I don't know the sex I am just making 6 in each sex and whatever the baby is I will keep and the other six I will put on etsy or gift to someone I know. These are two of the girl ones I have made so far. I really need to find out what it is so I can really get to work on the baby quilt and other things.

Crafts

I finally re organized my craft area after Ada had gotten into it and destroyed it. Well while I was going through things I found some ideas of things I had wanted to do but never did as well as a lot of supplies I forgot I had. So I decided to do a couple crafts. I decopoged Adas wipes holder to match her bedroom and I made a frame with the letter A in. Its all done in cloth and ribbon. I like the way both of them turned out and it was a lot of fun to do a craft again. I have a million more ideas of things I want to do as always but I can only do so many things at once. Oh yeah, and only so much money to buy craft stuff :)

My purse!!

Well I know that I already posted the first purse I made but after making one for my friend I really really wanted my own. I decided to make mine a little different and bigger since I still have to carry all the stuff for Bug with me. I really LOVE the way it came out. I am so excited to go do ANYTHING tomorrow so that I can use it! This purse was a lot more work than the first one but I think that it was worth the extra effort. Other than that nothing to exciting going on in my life. Just waiting on my baby to come home to me! 18 more days till hes on that plane!

Look what I made!

So I have always absolutely loved these purses but I never thought I would be capable enough to make one. Well a friend of mine wanted to give one to her boss for her birthday but she didn't want to pay the 50 bucks or more most people charge for these so she asked me if I thought I would be capable of doing it. At first I was going to say no, but then after warning her it might not come out, I decided what the heck why not give it a shot! Well here it is! I am pretty proud of this beauty and I can't wait to make my own now! For those of you that don't know you just add your name tapes from your hubbys uniform to it and you can have one made that says army wife and then you put the unit patches on it etc etc. Its made out of your husbands uniform top and its a way to wear your hero on your arm. Kinda cheesy to some but to us Army wives, were proud of our hubbys and all that they do for this country!

Selling at a craft show!

Well I am kinda excited! Scott is always telling me that I should try and sell some of the things that I make cause obviously we spend some money doing all my crafts and why not try and sell and see if we get any in return? Well I posted an ad on Craigslist yesterday for my pillowcase dresses. I figured these were a good place to start and I just wanted to see if there was even any interest. Well I got three orders the first day and now a lady wants to consign my dresses at her craft shows. So starting in May my stuff will be touring around at about 3 craft shows a month! I am so excited about this! I never thought people would want to but the junk I make. But guess they do! So exciting!! Just hope they sell. Now I have to make between 6 and 10 dresses by may. So good luck to me! Cause I am making military purses for my friends right now and dresses for my friends kids right now. GOt lots and lots to do!!

I think I have a crafting fever!

Well its late but I had to post cause I feel very accomplished. I wanted to make Ada a play apron cause she is always trying to put on mommys so I set out to do that using scrap fabric I had laying around. I think it came out pretty dang cute! I used the pattern that I posted on my blog a while back and just shrunk it for her size and then added the top part cause she makes messes! I really like the way it came out! It was a bigger project then I thought cause of stoping and starting so it took me most of the day to do. But i like it. Now I just need to get it on her and get a cute picture!

I also wanted to post a pic of the beginnings of Scott's Army wall in our house. I made the letters and the star. I know he has a bunch more certificates and such when he comes home and I want to add more pictures from his graduations and stuff. But one step at a time... I was glad I atleast got this up before he gets home!

Another good day

Well today was another good and exciting day. I got to dress Ada up in her cute spring dress. I ended up cleaning all morning. And then after morning naps and lunch we headed out to Wazoos for a little fun. After that it was off to hobby lobby to get some things for some more projects I had in mind.

Well when we got home, there was the ice cream man! What a great idea. Ada had never had anything from him. Right away she understood that she was going to get something. I ended up picking out the Dora treat they had. Well lets just say Ada showed me very quickly how this was not the best idea and that she is definatly entering the terrible twos. After opening it, I proceeded to try and give her some and she wanted to hold it herself. Well by the time I realized that's what she wanted the tantrum was already in full motion and she ended up in time out in her room to scream it out until she was done. Dora went into the freezer. About five minutes later she calmed down and came to me and said please and pointed to the fridge. So I thought we would try it again. This time I held her and put a bib on her and then gave it to her and she was pretty excited. She kept feeding herself and then feeding mommy. What a goof ball.

So here are a couple of the projects I worked on today. I saw this great idea in one of the blogs I follow online. They took just some cheap quilters things (can't remember what they are called right now) and put cute fabric in them, and then used them as like a tack board above their work area. Like to post new things you find of projects you might want to work on or what not. Well I had left over fabric from the same that matches the quilt in pillows on the couch in my office so I thought I would give it a shot. I really like the way they came out. I might eventually paint the quilt things black just to make it stand out a bit more. As you can see I already have some ideas up there just waiting to be done.


Another project I saw on someone else blog was a cute way to hold all of a girls hair clips. So I thought I would give this one a shot to.

Spring Spring Spring

Well I thought I would post a pic of Ada in the cute dress. She wasn't being very cooperative on the whole picture thing so sorry. But I think she looks adorable!



Also I decided to try and dress up my little window for spring and I am loving these candles I have. I ended up just tying some spring colored ribbon I had lying around, around them. And then adding my cute little bunny to it. I just like how each season I can change up the ribbons and do something festive for all the holidays and stuff.
