Poor baby girl

Well I had posted previously about how Ada has a milk allergy now. Well after sticking to a strict milk free diet none of her symptoms have gotten any better. We took her back into the doctor this morning and now she has been put on a strict gluten and milk free diet. Talk about a lot of work! If you don't know what a gluten free diet it, its a diet that contains no wheat, rye, barley or oats. Its a very tricky diet to learn about and there are a lot of hidden things on labels. It will definitely take some getting used to. Scott's brother has celiac disease. That's what its called, so I can ask his sister Jen for some help on recipes and stuff but when you add the milk allergy on top of that it makes it much more tricky. But hopefully our sweet baby girl will start to feel better. The rash and the diapers and the vommitting are no fun for anyone. Not to mention she is off the weight chart completly now and the doctor said if she doesn't start gaining weight instead of losing it, it will have some severe medical consiconceous. So wish us luck! And if any of you have good recipes send them this way!

You should ask to see an allergy specialist and get a food allergy test done. It would make life a lot easier on you and her both. :)

Got your text, I'll take anything off your hands that you need me too. I'm so sorry to hear about the new allergy. Good luck with everything!

I agree with anonymous above. There is a lot of testing that goes into knowing whether or not that is what she has. We had to go to a GI doctor with Tyler before we got the best diagnostic testing done. You might look into that, while you are on this venture. It sounds like the pediatrician is doing some testing. If everything comes back inconclusive, see a GI specialist. I know a good one. I have a ton of recipes as you know, many of them are lactose free as well. Look at them when you come next and take any you like. Good luck with the diet, I know it's a pain, but as you get to know what's out there, it gets easier.
